Guthrie Roy Hartford is an award winning filmmaker from Massachusetts. He started thinking analytically about films for the first time after viewing Dog Day Afternoon in a Film Appreciation course at his community college. He was introduced to the craft of screenwriting at the age of twenty and wrote his first feature script one year later. Since then, Guthrie has written numerous screenplays, both features and shorts. In his final semester at Fitchburg State University, where he studied Communications Media, he interned at Walden Media (The Chronicles of Narnia, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Giver, etc) in Burlington, MA where he did extensive coverage on screenplays and manuscripts for children’s books. During his time at Walden, he worked on his third feature screenplay, The Graveyard Gang – which is his debut film as a director and producer. The Graveyard Gang became an award winning film less than a month after its World Premiere in September of 2018, when it took home Best Local Feature at the Shawna Shea Film Festival. Guthrie is a lifelong Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan and enjoys spending time with his Golden Doodle, Lydi when he’s not hammering away at one of his screenplays.
